Hoof boots have come such a long way over the past few years, and have now evolved into being an easy-to-use, affordable and practical option for hoof protection for all horses. The successful use of hoof boots is all down to getting the right fit. So we offer all of our customers support to assure you get the best fit for your horse, including the free use of one of our fitting kits, which consists of several hoof boot shells which allows you to try them to check for the best fit prior to purchase.
We have used many of the different brands of hoof boots with our ever-changing herd of rescue horses over the years, and through this hands-on experience with them, we wanted to be able to offer riders the brands and styles that have endured both well for us at our centre, and for our previous happy clients and customers. So, the hoof boots that are available through this site have had to work hard to earn our horse's seal of approval and therefore we can highly recommend them.

The success of any hoof boot is all about getting the right fit for your horse's new boots.
So, in order to make that as easy as possible, we offer the free use of our fitting kits for our customers to try to check for fit prior to purchasing a pair of boots from us.
The fit kit process works by you providing us with the with and length of the sole of your horse's hoof.
Once we have those measurements, then we can send you several surrounding sizes of the scoot boot fitting shells to try.
Which are hoof boots without the accessories.
This allows you to try before you buy to assure you get the right sizes for your horse, pony or donkey.
We don't charge for the use of our fitting kits but ask that you cover postage, please.

The pastern strap is designed to help prevent the boot being pulled off due to an overreach, or sucked off when riding through mud. It is not intended to be the primary source of securement.
The strap is made of very strong thermoplastic urethane (TPU) and is designed to stretch when placed under load, so the strap will not affect the horse’s pasterns if secured correctly. It also has a number of holes to provide the correct setting, depending on the thickness of the horse’s pasterns.
To set the strap at the correct length, make sure your horse is standing upright with its legs at 90 degree. Once secured, you should be able to place one finger (large) or two fingers (small) under the straps at the front of the pastern.

It can also help prevent losing a boot in the instance a horse overreaches.
Made from extremely robust thermoplastic urethane (TPU), the Scoot Mud Strap is designed to stretch when placed under load and, if secured correctly, won't affect the horse's pasterns.

What is the purpose of front straps?
The front closure straps are designed to make the application and removal process of the Scoot Boot very simple and practical.
As with the pastern strap, the front closure straps are made of thermoplastic urethane (TPU), which has excellent strength and flexibility.

Endurance Gaiters
Endurance Gaiters are made out of neoprene and provide protection for the lower back of the pastern and rear coronet area for sensitive skinned horses and for endurance riders travelling excessive distances.

🐴Scoot Pads are used for sensitive soles or to assist fitting in between sizes. We only recommend you use pads if necessary. Most horses do not need pads in Scoot Boots. Using pads may affect the fit of the boots and you may need to go up a size to accommodate pads.
Scoot Pads are made from TPU and are designed to provide relief to horses with sensitive soles. They can also be used to help get a good fit if your horse is in between sizes.
Scoot Pads sizing corresponds to whichever size Scoot Boot your horse fits.
000-2 are 3mm thickness
sizes 3-8 are 4mm thickness
*If used with Scoot Slims you will need to cut the pads to shape.

Pastern Wraps For BFB Hoof Boots-$34.95 + Shipping
For those who would like additional protection for their Big Foot Boots, we offer the Cavallo BFB Pastern Wraps (sold in sets of two). The BFB Pastern Wraps offer an extra layer of protection for your horse’s soft skin when you ride.
Velcro the Cavallo wrap around the hoof, keeping it low to the ground around the bottom of the bulb and drawing the elastic diagonally upward from back to front.
Place the boot on the hoof, toe first, ensuring that the wrap lies flat. Velcro the red tab from the pastern wrap onto the red Velcro on the tongue of the boot.
Carry on your boot fastening procedure as normal.
SALES TERMS: When buying from us you agree to do so under these terms:
1-DELIVERY: We are a horse rescue centre where our volunteers split their time between helping horses & running our shop + we hand make all of our rope tack items right here in our New Zealand workshop too. Therefore, we are always very busy and ask for all customers to please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of all items due to this, though we endeavour to try to send goods out faster whenever possible-thankyou. For Dr Cook Bitless Bridles please allow up to 4 weeks to receive or for Edix Saddles up to 8 weeks or 12 weeks for custom made orders -more so since Covid has caused further delays.
2-PAYMENTS: In order to keep prices down we only take payment by bank credit as this avoids buyers having to pay third-party fees. Payment is due upfront before any goods are made or shipped. On the rare occasion when goods are sent prior to payment, upon receipt of all goods payment is due. Items remain the property of Natural Horse NZ until full payment is received.
3-REFUNDS/EXCHANGES; in the event of the rare occasion where a customer has received damaged or faulty goods we will pay for their return and cover replacement. We require that we are informed straight away by email or messenger about this and that the goods are returned to us within 7 days using a tracked and insured postage service. Please be aware that we will not be liable for returned goods being lost or damaged whilst in return transit to us. We don't offer refunds on goods for a change of mind or on any of our rope tack items, which are all custom made for each individual customer to their requested sizes and colours.
4-SHIPPING + DELIVERY: We require a POSTALLY CORRECT physical address with a street number + RURAL DELIVERY NUMBER for all deliveries-if in doubt about your address please check the address finder link: https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-postcode-finder. Please be aware that if you have a rural address and no Rural Delivery Number is given that the couriers will not insure items sent with postally incorrect addresses so if the goods are lost or damaged in transit then Natural Horse NZ will not be liable for replacement as you have these goods sent to you at your own risk. Natural Horse NZ will not be responsible for any loss or damage to goods when postally incorrect addresses are provided. We use Courier Post as our Shipping Agents throughout New Zealand and send out all goods for the lowest possible shipping costs. We will happily combine multiple items in order to keep courier costs to a minimum. Our couriers charge us a rural delivery surcharge which we charge to customers at cost, so it is always cheaper to send goods to a residential address and we actively encourage this if at all possible to save on shipping fees and reduce shipping times so if you are rural please consider sending to a work address or perhaps a friends residence or local farmlands store etc.....
